ACTIVITIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Coordinator

  • will be responsible for collaborating with team members to plan, develop, promote and deliver content-rich programs for 300+ girls 6-18 both during school hours and out-of-school hours, as well as supporting overall organizational operations on the administrative side.
  •  will maintain and expand relationships with area schools and community partners to implement school day, out-of-school-time, and virtual programs in alignment with our mission of inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. 
  • The bulk of the work for the Program Coordinator involves front-line work with girls, program development and delivery, event facilitation, and administrative duties as required.

Responsibilities within the Program Team:

  • include registration, data tracking, program evaluation, training, and organizational support. 
  • The successful candidate should be interested in gender equity, social justice, anti-oppressive and anti-racist work, and be passionate about modeling these values to girls and young women. W

SKILLS:

  • Passion for the Girls Inc. mission
  • An awareness of, and commitment to, social justice education
  • A commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization including support for, and advocacy and action toward, gender equity, reproductive justice, trans rights, and anti-racism
  • Three to five (3-5) years of facilitation experience in a formal or informal educational or youth development setting
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities, and work within a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Degree or diploma in Social Work or Child and Youth Development preferred; relevant work and life experience is also valued in place of or in addition to higher education
  • Experience with out-of-school time programs a plus
  • High level of comfort and skill with computer applications, technology, email, Zoom, Microsoft Suite and Google Suite
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills, and exceptional interpersonal and rapport-building skills
  • Valid driver’s license, with good driving record, and regular access to a reliable vehicle
  • Sense of humour, flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to meet the changing needs of children and youth
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Clean Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check

Other Details:

  • based at our Brockville office, with travel throughout Leeds Grenville as required.
  • flexible hours including weekly evenings/ weekends are required in order to meet program delivery demands.
