    Developmental Services Ontario - South East Region

    Developmental Services Ontario - South East Region, a program of Extend-A-Family Kingston, is the single point of access to developmental services in the South East Region of Ontario serving Lanark, Leeds & Grenville, Frontenac/Lennox & Addington, and Hastings & Prince Edward Counties. We are presently inviting applications for the position of:

    Community Housing Liaison

    1. Full-Time Position(contract)

    The Housing function was established in 2017 within Developmental Services Ontario to help people with a developmental disability, their families and caregivers increase their knowledge of housing options in the community. As part of this initiative, the Community Housing Liaison role will support in the following outcomes for people:

    • Improve individuals’ knowledge and awareness of non-ministry funded housing options in their community. 
    • Improve individuals’ access to stable and sustainable non-MCCSS funded housing options in their community. 
    • Improve connections to responsive and person-directed supports that can support people with living independently in their community. 
    • Reduce the likelihood of individuals and families experiencing a crisis (including chronic stress).

    Additionally, generally the Community Housing Liaison will support the following, non-exhaustive outcomes for people receiving services:

    • People will be better informed of housing options and resources to create innovative housing solutions
    • People will be better informed to leverage resources, both ministry funded, and non-ministry funded, to create housing options.


    • Must possess: Three-year Bachelor of Arts in Social Science Degree (psychology, sociology or social work) or equivalent education and experience.
    • Minimum 5 Years of recent experience working directly in the field of developmental services.
    • Valid Ontario driver’s license.
    • Under the legislative requirements of the French Language Services Act, French language competency is an asset.
