The County owns and manages over 50 buildings, including administration offices, ambulance bases, museums, and social housing facilities.

What you will do:

Reporting to the Property Supervisor, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission to enhance the well-being of the individuals and communities we serve. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Perform preventative maintenance of HVAC systems, machinery, equipment, water systems and custodial duties as required

• Operate County vehicles, snow removal, salting/sanding and grounds maintenance equipment

• Perform required maintenance and service in accordance with equipment manuals and work orders

• Undertake cleaning & garbage removal and minor repairs, including carpentry, painting, drywall, etc.

• Operate computerized building management systems

• Work overtime from time to time, including on-call rotation

• Satisfactory attendance record, subject to the requirements of the Ontario Human Rights Code

What you will bring:

We are looking for someone who shares our passion for helping people live their best lives and brings:

• Be in good physical health, capable of lifting 75 lbs. (repeatedly), and able to work days, nights and weekends when necessary

• The successful candidate must possess a secondary school graduation diploma. The ideal candidate will possess a post-secondary school diploma in a related field of study i.e., mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, horticulture, forestry, and or equivalent education

• Three years of experience performing carpentry, plumbing, drywall, and minor electrical repairs

• Possess a valid Class G Drivers Licence and be able to provide a satisfactory driver’s abstract

• Proficiency using computer applications, including GIS, MS Office, i.e. Word, Excel & Outlook

• Obtain Operation of Small Drinking Water Systems Certificate within 3 months of the offer of full-time employment and maintain this certificate

• Employment is conditional upon a satisfactory criminal record check
