Reporting to the Director, Student Information and Analysis, the Jr Student Information Systems Analyst, provides high-level support to the operation of the Office of the University Registrar (OUR) to ensure its overall success.
The incumbent will be primarily responsible for the identification, analysis and problem resolution related to student information. Using strong analytical skills, they perform complex administrative functions within PeopleSoft Student to ensure student information is accurate and complete.
The Jr Student Information Systems Analyst assists with the preparation of internal student record & student financial reporting and reconciliation; government reporting, like the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC); they will also assist with the preparation of data collection to support external agency initiatives.
They will be responsible to ensure our delivered Power BI products are refreshed per the approved schedule and audited frequently for accuracy and consistency. They will create and maintain process documentation; and identify opportunities for improvement and provide thoughtful recommendations to the Director for changes to procedures and processes.
This position will provide support to the Records, Registration and Fees unit during peak times.
This position provides expertise to aid in the planning, design and development of technical resources. This position translates business requirements into an implementation plan with clients and members of the team. This position updates project managers, sponsors of progress towards objectives, and ensures issues are logged and resolved.
What you will do
- Reviews and edits business requirements and processes, and provides regular updates to project managers and client groups.
- Conducts research, develops detailed queries, and addresses information systems changes and business process improvements.
- Recommends system and business process improvements on information system and business process issues.
- Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported and resolved in a timely manner.
- Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.
Required Education
- Three-year Community College Diploma or Three-Year Bachelor Degree, or equivalent. In addition, requires trade certification, qualification, or on-going learning to remain ahead of changes in technology or emerging fields.
Required Experience
- More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years of experience.
- Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
