The “CAD-Linux Administrator” position is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s CAD software delivery systems and Linux-based infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. The position reports to the IT Team Leader, and the salary range for this position is 75K to 95K. Requirements of the role include:

  • Manage a hybrid cloud environment with servers in a datacenter and public cloud.
  • Support IT systems for both internal operations and customer-facing services (installations, configurations, software updates, system security, maintaining high performance).
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems per requirements.
  • Address issues and outages promptly, offer guidance to prevent service interruptions.
  • Respond to incoming requests for support efficiently.
  • Integrate robust security measures into all administrative activities.
  • Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups.
  • Assist in network modeling, analysis, and planning.
  • Stay up to date on new technologies, train others, or receive training as required.
  • Ideal Experience, Education and Skills include:
  • University degree in relevant program and 3-5 years relevant work experience
  • Proven experience as a system administrator, network administrator, or a similar role, preferably in an organization that maintains a CAD software environment.
  • Strong knowledge of system security for back-end and client systems.
  • Advanced expertise in Linux Red Hat & Rocky Linux is essential.
  • Proficiency in creating scripts in Python and Linux shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms, with a heavy emphasis on Linux.
  • Experience with private/public cloud virtualization, focusing on delivering client services from the public cloud.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
  • Occasional travel may be required
