Carecor is looking for dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Workers to join our amazing team working in the Kingston Area. This is a Casual position in an inpatient setting (Transitional Care Unit) with 12-hour shifts and rotation of day and night shifts with alternate weekends.

Under the direction of facility nursing staff, you will perform floor care duties - helping to create an environment that promotes optimal physical, social, and emotional well-being for patients. For each assignment, you will be in one facility for a full 12-hour shift. This is a Casual position with flexible shifts.

    Requirements

    • Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate from:
      • an Ontario Community College Program; OR
      • a private career college in Ontario that is registered with and approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities with successful completion of the final examination administered by the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC); OR
      • an approved Ontario Board of Education PSW Program
    • Must have clinical and/or working experience as a PSW within the past two (2) years, preferably LTC/TCU departments.
    • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position including:
      • Push/pull up to 250 pounds
      • Lifting 50 pounds max
      • Working at/above shoulder height
      • Standing & walking for long periods
      • Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, crouching
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to follow a care plan with minimal supervision
    • Proof of current immunization for measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (MMRV), tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, and hepatitis b
    • Proof of negative two-step TB skin test within the past one (1) year or negative chest x-ray within the past five (5) years
    • Current BCLS-HCP (HealthCare Provider Level)
    • Current N95 Mask Fit Test Certificate (current within 2 years)
    • Willing to undergo Vulnerable Sector Police Check as a condition of hire
    • Pay Rate- $23-$26/hour

    Please note that based on government mandates and directives, healthcare workers are now required to provide proof of full COVID-19 Vaccination. If successful, new hires will be required to provide proof of vaccination before their start date.
