Customer Service Ticket Sales staff are responsible for providing a high quality of service of ticket and retail sales to guests who enter the Ticket Office and Waterfront Gifts and Apparel shop, and perform responsibilities in an efficient, respectful, and organized manner.
Job Requirements:
We are looking for candidates we have the ability to work well in a high-traffic, guest focused, team environment. Be an ambassador for the Destination of Kingston. Candidates should be confident speaking to the public about our company products as well as the City of Kingston.
Proficiency in languages other than English is an asset.
Job Description:
As a member of our Reservations and Retail team you will contribute to an outstanding guest experience by providing visitors with information on our Cruises, Trolley Tours and Walking Tours, and completing transactions for tickets, passes and retail items. You will also be a key member of our guest engagement and operations team: engaging with guests and assisting with dock operations.

Season: This is a spring-summer-fall seasonal position. The Kingston 1000 Islands Cruises operating season begins in April and ends in October.
Qualifications:
- Positive attitude and approach to customer service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
- Proficiency in other languages is an asset.
- Experience using Pont-of-Sale software.
- Competency using MS Office.
- Previous experience in customer service, retail, tourism or related field.
- Heavy lifting and other demanding physical work are occasionally required.
Responsibilities:
- Ticket Office, Waterfront Gifts & Apparel:
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all KDG products.
- Use ticketing software to create, edit and finalize reservations and retail purchases for your guest in an accurate and efficient manner.
- Anticipate and respond to guests’ needs: exceed expectations, create an outstanding experience, ask questions.
- Help guests with browsing and selecting merchandise.
- Maintain a clean, organized, fully functional environment for guests/staff.
- Facilitate communication between vessels and other reservations staff.
- Participate in operations including handling vessel lines and gangways.
Office:
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all KDG products.
- Use ticketing software to create, edit and finalize reservations for your guest in an accurate and efficient manner.
- Assist guests via phone, email and live chat.
- Assist with daily office tasks such as the creation of manifests, printing/stocking guest-facing materials and monitoring incoming OTA requests.
- Facilitate communication between vessels and other reservations staff.
- Anticipate and respond to guests’ needs: exceed expectations, create an outstanding experience, ask questions.
