THE ROLE
- We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Personal Tax Preparer to join our team on a full-time contract basis for the upcoming busy tax season.
- This position will focus on preparing individual tax returns, ensuring compliance with current tax laws, and delivering exceptional service to clients.
- If you are an experienced tax preparer, comfortable working with Office 365 and tech savvy, we want to hear from you.
THE FIRM
- Growing, entrepreneurial, and modern accounting firm working mainly with small to medium sized businesses across a range of industries
- Small, bright, modern office in the west-end of Kingston
- We utilize an array of cloud-based software and communication tools to work efficiently and keep in touch throughout the day
- Team currently includes three CPA co-owners as well as several other members with a diverse range of skills and backgrounds working in a collaborative and easygoing atmosphere
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare personal tax returns for individual clients with the highest degree of accuracy.
- Utilize Taxprep software for efficient and accurate tax preparation.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary documents and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Review and verify client information and tax filings.
- Stay updated with the latest tax legislation and changes to ensure compliance.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in dealing with sensitive client information.
- Ensure all tax returns are filed within the appropriate deadlines.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as a personal tax preparer, with strong knowledge of individual tax returns.
- Proficiency with Taxprep software for tax preparation an asset
- Proficiency with Office 365, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong understanding of Canadian tax laws and tax preparation procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
