The Community Development Summer Student will assist the Economic Development team with the development, management, and promotion of the Frontenac K&P Trail and other Economic Development initiatives. Responsibilities will include regular field work for data collection, site inspections, and completion of trail assessments. Other responsibilities include use of social media, websites and other digital tools to promote the K&P Trail and other economic development initiatives. The student will be required to take photos, write reports, communicate with stakeholders and update website content. The selected candidate will work closely with the Manager of Economic Development and the Community Development Officer on these initiatives.

Education and Experience:

  • An individual currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a related post-secondary educational program
  • Experience using digital tools such as cameras, photo editing software, websites, online surveys and social media
  • Experience collecting, organizing, and evaluating data from public surveys, site inspections
  • Ability to engage with the public both online and in person, with the ability to respond to a broad range of participation abilities and considerations
