The Kingston Frontenac Public Library (KFPL) has an opening for the position of Technology Tutor, part-time, temporary (6-month term), unionized.

The hours of work for this position are listed below and take place at the Calvin Park (CP) and Central (CE) branches.

Primary Duties:
- Assisting in the development and delivery of training and workshops on various aspects of technology.
- Offering training sessions and introducing KFPL technology in the larger Kingston Frontenac community.
- Assisting in the marketing and promotion of a wide range of KFPL technology focussed services to community groups.
- Informing a broad range of community members about the potential of the Internet and technology as a source for information, resources and services.
- Providing assistance and training on the Internet and related technologies to individuals of all ages.
- Maintaining records and statistics.
Requirements:
- Must have an extensive knowledge of commonly used software for personal computing and must be proficient in the use of the Internet, including e-books, media streaming, etc.
- Must be comfortable with computer hardware and troubleshooting basic problems.
- Experience with mobile devices, 3D printing and maker technology an asset.
- Must possess excellent customer service and presentation skills.
- Experience teaching or providing training is an asset.
Compensation:
Hourly rate is $18.82 (plus 4% vacation pay and 14% in lieu of benefits).
This position is covered by the terms of the CUPE Local 2202 collective agreement with the Kingston Frontenac Public Library.
Conditions of Employment:
The successful candidate, to whom an employment offer has been made, shall be required to provide a current CRC (Criminal Record Check), including vulnerable sector, at their own expense.
