ABOUT THE COMPANY

The Kingston Tennis Club is a seasonal community club that is open to people of all ages and ability. We are devoted to promoting the sport of tennis and provide facilities and programming to support the game, bringing together people of diverse backgrounds in a healthy and low-cost activity. We provide affordable summer activities for juniors through our summer tennis camps. Retired seniors maintain social and physical activity through regular games of doubles tennis. Families regularly play both together and with other members, facilitating multi-generational interaction. We provide a venue for high school tennis tournaments (KASSAA and EOSSAA) and Queen's University tennis team practices, and we introduce tennis to classes of grade school students through our Try/Learn/Play program. The KTC runs a popular mixed Singles Ladder and Doubles Ladder for adult members throughout the season. We hold monthly tennis socials that include tennis games followed by dinner, and host several club tournaments. Certified teaching pros offer individual and group lessons to both adults and juniors; our junior tennis camps provide additional learning opportunities for children aged 6 to 14. Our club's activities link to the values of physical literacy and the Long-Term Athlete Development model actively promoted by the province of Ontario and the Canadian Sport for Life program. The club hires seasonal office/grounds staff and tennis instructors, and it is managed by a hard-working volunteer board of directors. Many adult and junior club members also volunteer their time to contribute to the club's operation.
