The Frontenac Club in Kingston, Ontario is the leading luxury boutique hotel in the region. We relaunched the historic Club in mid-2020 with the desire to provide our city with a level of service it so richly deserves. Founded with the intention to cultivate a reputation for quality, creativity and sophisticated fun, we are proud to have been recognized as one of Canada’s finest boutique hotels. In addition to our 20 luxurious guest rooms, we also operate the Bank Gastrobar, a 40-seat hotel lounge located in the space that was once the first Kingston branch of the Bank of Montreal circa 1845. The Bank includes a gorgeous private patio that adds 40 seasonal outdoor seats.
Job Overview
Breakfast is a signature item at the Club. A large part of our reputation comes from the creativity and presentation of our food overall. We are seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Breakfast Cook to join our team.
Our ideal candidate will possess strong culinary skill, a friendly demeanor, is excellent in a high-paced environment, has attention to detail and possesses the ability to multitask effectively. In addition to the food preparation, this position will perform the dishwashing of china, glass and silver associated with breakfast and with housekeping.
The position will work 32-40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare traditional breakfast dishes such as eggs, pancakes, and waffles, as well as specialized local dishes and dietary breakfast options
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Ensure food is prepared to the exact chef’s specifications and to set up stations for menu
- Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and food prep areas
- Completes the cleaning and sanitization of all china, glass, silver and kitchen utensils at every service
- Monitors and maintains the inventory of breakfast foods and supplies, placing orders with the Chef as needed
- Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations, and maintain kitchen equipment in good working order
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff and waitstaff to ensure smooth restaurant operation during breakfast hours
- Provide excellent customer service, accommodating special requests where possible
