Candidates will support adults who have an intellectual disability as they develop their capacity to live, learn, work and participate in all aspects of living in the community.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Social Services (DSW, SSW)
- Excellent interpersonal communication and behavioral expertise
- Ability to work effectively as a team member in collaboration with outside agencies
- Valid Ontario driver’s license.
- Assets: CPR, First Aid, and Non-Violent CPI.
Specific Role Accountabilities
- Planning - Under the leadership of the Manager, participates in the development of an annual team charter.
- Quality Assurance - Provide and enhance person centered supports in accordance with the Agency’s policies and procedures regarding quality assurance.
- Relationships and Networking - Cultivate and maintain positive, effective working relationships with people with disabilities, families/friends, team, and communities which exemplify the vision and values of the Agency.
- Supports and Service Delivery - As directed, complete daily, weekly, and monthly tasks in a timely manner. Ensure emotional, physical, spiritual, social/leisure and vocational well-being of people. Support their chosen lifestyle by promoting social inclusion, community participation and natural supports.
- Team Support - Actively contribute to team success and growth.
Knowledge & Skills Requirements
- Excellent and effective written, verbal and listening communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal and public relations skills.
- Computer literacy of a level sufficient to document supports and services and meet administrative needs.
- Collaborative, facilitative, confident, consistent yet flexible decision-making skills.
- Resourcefulness and flexibility to meet the needs of the Agency and demands of the position.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member to achieve outcomes and deadlines.
- Ability to balance multiple demands/priorities and successfully carry out the vision, values and priorities of person centered supports and services.
