This role works under the authority of the laboratory department head. The person performs, on the human body or from specimens, analyses and examinations in the field of medical biology. The person is called upon to work in one or more sectors of a clinical medical biology laboratory, in particular in biochemistry, hematology, blood bank, microbiology, pathology and sampling in order to obtain and control the accuracy of relevant data likely to determine a medical diagnosis, support a therapy or support the efforts of the infection prevention department. The person carries out his work by following recognized and standardized techniques.

Main responsibility:

- Prioritize analysis requests according to the degree of urgency.
- Receive specimens and enter the request in Softlab and SIIATH.
- Prepare, stabilize, store and/or inoculate specimens received.
- Perform analyses and examinations in the field of medical biology.
- Validate and transmit analysis results within the expected timeframes.
- Perform daily quality controls on the analyses produced, verify the values in the Unity Real Time software and notify the coordinator if there are problems with the controls.
- Participate in the inventory of supplies for the supply as well as the storage of supplies received.
- Participate in the maintenance of the devices.

Qualification required:
Requirements:
- Hold a college diploma (DEC) in biomedical analysis technology from a school recognized by the competent ministry.
- Be a member of the Ordre professionnel des technologistes médicaux du Québec (OPTMQ).
