Network / System Administrator - Telecom Metric Inc

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting our network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with other IT professionals to maintain and enhance our systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate access and use of computer networks
• Install web server hardware and software
• Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipment
• Monitor the performance of computer systems and networks
• Troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade web server hardware and software
• Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating system software
• Provide problem-solving services to network users
• Implement data, software and hardware security procedures
• Perform routine network start up and close down and maintain control records
• Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
• Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet
• Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance
• Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations
• Develop policies and procedures for network access and usage and for the backup and recovery of data
• Perform backup procedures to ensure data preservation
• Proficiency in AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems.
• Experience with server management and configuration.
• Familiarity with SQL databases as well as NoSQL solutions.
• Understanding of scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript for automation tasks.
• Knowledge of PL/SQL for database management tasks is a plus.
• Ability to implement VPN solutions for secure remote access.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
