The Kingston Economic Development Corporation is the economic development organization for the City of Kingston, Ontario. We have an immediate opening for an Investment Outreach Coordinator to join our award-winning team. This is a full-time term position, with an end date of March 31, 2025. The Coordinator supports the business development team through research, prospecting, lead generation, and targeted outreach.

The Investment Outreach Coordinator will examine and prepare reports of companies that align with Kingston’s strategic value proposition and connect with decision-makers of expanding companies to gather information about their expansion and growth plans. The role includes the collection and validation of data, the implementation of new processes to ensure the utilization of that data, and updating records in the Corporate Customer Service Relationship Management (CRM). The incumbent will work with highly confidential information.

Working Conditions

What We Offer

  • Hiring salary between $40,170 and $45,000

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

The primary job duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Researching and identifying high growth companies and identifying decision-makers
  • Reaching out and connecting with potential prospects
  • Understanding companies' needs and site selection criteria.
  • Communicating with C-level executives and decision-makers to collect information.
  • Understanding Kingston’s value proposition
  • Summarizing and reporting company needs
  • Following up with companies to support our pipeline of opportunities.
  • Maintaining database records and keeping account information up to date
  • Conduct primary and secondary research related to international business initiatives as directed.
  • Development of permanent content and marketing collateral for the website and digital platforms
  • Assist in the planning and execution of activities including post-event evaluation.
  • Provide administrative support as required to support investment attraction activities.
  • Prepare reports as required.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Kingston Economic Development Corporation and the city of Kingston.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education

  • A post-secondary education is required.
  • A degree or certificate in a related field (marketing, business administration) is considered favourably.

Experience

  • Client-facing experience with professional communication skills.
  • Working with/administering a database preferred: ability to understand data management and relationships.
  • Prospecting or sales experience is considered an asset.


Required Skills

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication with strong writing abilities. Must be able to communicate in English.
  • Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships.
  • Demonstrated primary and secondary research skills and the ability to analyze, interpret and present results.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Adaptability and resilience in handling challenges and changes in a dynamic environment.
