Ontario Travel Ambassador

Join our team at Destination Ontario this summer as a Travel Ambassador! This dynamic role involves working at an Ontario Travel Information Centre and/or providing visitor information at pop-up locations such as at popular tourist spots, festivals, and events across Ontario. You will influence and inspire travelers by helping to plan their trips and creating custom itineraries. You will also capture content for social media, work within a team, and learn about the beauty and culture of Ontario. This is an opportunity to learn, grow, and gain valuable new skills!

How Do I Qualify?

• Strong customer service skills developed through job, education, or volunteer experiences

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Foundational knowledge of digital platforms

• General knowledge of Ontario’s geography

• Enthusiasm for travel and exploring new destinations and experiences

• Ability to capture content for social media platforms

• Flexibility working in diverse environments, both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions

• Fluency/knowledge of additional language(s) considered an asset

• Retail & POS experience is an asset

Skills/Experience You Will Gain:

• Knowledge of the Ontario tourism industry, products, and experiences

• Practical experience in a customer service role

• Content creation for social media platforms

• Collaboration in a team setting

• Enhanced problem-solving and adaptability skills

• Networking opportunities with industry professionals

• Experience working within the Ontario Public Service (OPS)

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be enrolled in a full-time study program (high school, university, college etc.) and intend on returning to school in Fall 2025 or be within 6 months of graduation from a post-secondary institution

• Canadian citizen, or be legally entitled to work in Canada

• Available to work from May/June to Labour Day

• Available to work up to 35 hours/week on weekdays and weekends with some evenings, including statutory holidays

• Ability to work effectively in diverse environments, both indoors and outdoors, and adapt to various weather conditions.

Compensation: $17.20 - $18.05/hour
