As an Employment Coach, you'll play a pivotal role in empowering individuals to achieve their career goals. You'll provide personalized guidance and support to clients as they navigate their job search, career exploration, and life skills development. With access to the latest tools, strategies, and resources, you’ll help clients build customized plans that set them up for long-term success.

This role is for someone who is passionate about working with diverse communities, staying ahead of industry trends, and helping people overcome challenges to reach their full potential.

Location: Leeds & Grenville, Ontario (with occasional travel)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Key Responsibilities

Employment Coaching

  • Conduct initial and follow-up assessments to understand clients’ work history, education, goals, and any barriers to employment.
  • Refer clients to formal assessments (e.g., career, skills, interest/values assessments).
  • Guide clients towards the right employment services and educational programs tailored to their needs.
  • Research local job markets and identify opportunities that align with clients’ goals.
  • Develop personalized learning, action, and retention plans to ensure long-term success.
  • Stay in touch with clients for regular check-ins (3, 6, and 12-month follow-ups) to ensure progress and offer continued support.
  • Lead group workshops on life skills, career exploration, and job search strategies.
  • Provide personalized coaching through phone, video, and other remote platforms.
  • Stay up-to-date on issues affecting job seekers in the region, including trends in mental health, poverty, and the labour market.

Community Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with community service providers to ensure clients have access to the right resources.
  • Assist clients in accessing community-based services and financial support options.
  • Help clients complete forms, training requests, and applications accurately and efficiently.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain detailed and up-to-date client records using electronic systems.
  • Gather and report statistical data to support program requirements.

Qualifications & Competencies

Technical Skills:

  • Education and/or experience that enables you to perform the duties effectively.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences.
  • Advanced computer skills, including social media, data management, and record-keeping.
  • Crisis management and conflict resolution skills to handle challenging situations effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to adjust your style based on the audience’s needs.
