Job Title: Facilitator

Location: Leeds & Grenville, Ontario (with occasional travel)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday - Friday

About the Role:

As a Facilitator, you will play a pivotal role in the development, facilitation, and evaluation of pre-employment workshops. You’ll help prepare participants for the workforce through dynamic and engaging learning experiences. Whether working with youth, adults, or independent learners, you’ll provide the guidance, support, and skills necessary to navigate the job market successfully.

Key Responsibilities:

Workshop Coordination & Facilitation:

  • Create engaging learning experiences by selecting diverse resources and using creative methods to facilitate workshops, both in-person and remotely.
  • Adapt workshop content to meet participants' needs, ensuring they’re ready for employment.
  • Evaluate individual progress and group performance, providing constructive feedback and tracking development.
  • Develop and update curriculum materials to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Provide 1:1 support for independent participants, ensuring they achieve required goals.

Guidance & Support:

  • Model positive behaviors and guide participants in building essential life skills.
  • Provide coaching and assist with crisis management, using trauma-informed techniques to resolve conflicts.
  • Offer individual support as needed, ensuring adherence to privacy laws and guidelines.

Administrative & Reporting Duties:

  • Gather and input program data for EEC and funder reporting requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and meet program targets through effective time and project management.
  • Support the broader EEC team through participation in activities and collaboration with colleagues.

Professional Development & Team Participation:

  • Pursue continuous learning to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Participate actively in team efforts, ensuring the agency’s goals are met and services are provided at the highest standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in facilitation, community resources, and employment trends.

Work Environment:

  • Collaborative and supportive team setting.
  • Work in classroom and office environments, with occasional travel within Leeds & Grenville.
  • Light physical effort, extended periods of sitting and standing, as well as computer work.
  • Meeting new people, working directly with individuals and groups to achieve shared goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education & Experience:

  • Combination of education and/or experience sufficient to fulfill the duties of the role.
  • Proven experience in facilitation and presentation with strong research, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced computer proficiency with strong record-keeping and data gathering abilities.

Key Competencies:

  • Effective communication, including the ability to adapt your style based on different learning preferences.
  • Strong time management and self-management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Empathetic, professional, and ethical character, with a commitment to inclusive practices and overcoming personal biases.
  • Trauma-informed crisis management and conflict resolution experience.
  • Coaching and feedback skills that empower others to succeed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of EEC programs and community support services.
  • Understanding of local labor market trends and the challenges faced by youth in rural communities.
  • Basic business acumen and understanding of employment laws.
  • G Licence and insurance in good standing.
  • Willingness to cross-train in other areas to enhance your job experience and assist the team.
