The Payroll & Benefits Administrator will report to the Human Resources Manager and will ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll for multiple companies within the Doornekamp Group of Companies while ensuring compliance with government legislation. This role will support the core functions of payroll and benefits administration. The Payroll & Benefits Administrator will adhere to, support and reflect the organization’s health and safety practices at all times as well as promote and live up to the company core values, code of ethics and employee code of conduct. The Payroll & Benefits Administrator is required to work on site 5 days per week at our Odessa office.
What you will do:
- Complete payroll processing (ADP Workforce Now) for all company employees; perform data entry for new hires; process changes to employee electronic records for changes such as terminations, leaves of absence and promotions.
- Process new enrolments for benefits and maintain benefits database; ensure accuracy of monthly benefit insurance billings, track and reconcile monthly benefit invoices.
- Assist with absence and disability management due to both occupational and non-occupational illness or injury; monitor attendance and leave of absence requests.
- As assigned by the VP HR and the HR Manager, generate reports needed to track issues, undertake trend analysis to inform decision-making on key HR matters.
- Maintain all electronic and paper files up to date and organized according to the Company’s records management conventions.
- Respond to, track and resolve Payroll & Benefits inquiries.
- Responsible for manual and electronic records of the department information system; maintaining employee records in a secure system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, provincial, industry, and local regulations.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in Office Administration, Accounting, HR Management, or related field (or equivalent).
- ADP Workforce Now Payroll and HR Software experience considered a strong asset.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation considered a strong asset.
- Advanced in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, with ability to create, edit and proof read with speed and agility.
- Strong interpersonal capability and approachability; strong oral and written communication skills with particular focus on grammar, mechanics, clarity and tone.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize work to meet established deadlines.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and confidentiality.
