The Volunteer Manager role has the following tasks and responsibilities:

1. Volunteer Recruitment, Onboarding, and Training:

  • Assist in implementing strategies to recruit and onboard volunteers, focusing on engaging local youth and underrepresented groups.
  • Conduct onboarding sessions to familiarize volunteers with program policies, roles, and expectations.
  • Support training initiatives to equip volunteers with essential skills such as teamwork, communication, and task-specific competencies.

2. Scheduling and Coordination:

  • Develop and manage weekly volunteer schedules, ensuring alignment with program activities and coverage for all roles.
  • Assign tasks to volunteers based on their interests and skills, while maintaining flexibility for adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure seamless volunteer integration into activities.

3. Volunteer Supervision and Support:

  • Oversee day-to-day volunteer activities to ensure adherence to guidelines and successful program delivery.
  • Provide direct support to volunteers, addressing questions, challenges, and offering constructive feedback.

Foster a positive and inclusive environment to keep volunteers motivated and engaged.

4. Engagement, Recognition, and Feedback:

  • Organize initiatives to recognize and appreciate volunteer contributions, such as an appreciation event or campaign.
  • Collect feedback from volunteers to understand their experiences and identify immediate areas for improvement.
  • Promote team-building activities to strengthen collaboration and camaraderie among volunteers.

5. Administration, Safety, and Program Development:

  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer participation and contributions for reporting purposes.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed, delivering training on emergency procedures and conducting regular safety checks.
  • Contribute to evaluating the program's effectiveness by collecting feedback and recommending improvements for future initiatives.
