As the Website Developer, you will play a key role in enhancing the online presence and branding of the organization by creating user-friendly, engaging, and accessible digital solutions. Your work will support community engagement, skill development, and the organization’s overall mission.
We are seeking a talented and creative Website Developer who will:
Develop and Maintain Digital Solutions:- Create and manage website content to showcase programs, events, and organizational impact, supporting community engagement and visibility.
- Collaborate on the development of digital strategies to enhance branding across multiple platforms, including the website, Instagram, and other social media channels.
Leverage New Technologies and Tools:
- Utilize tools such as Canva, WordPress, and Wix to design, update, and optimize the website and digital content.
- Innovate by adopting emerging technologies and trends to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance user experience.
Optimize Website Performance:
- Ensure high performance, quality, and responsiveness of the website while tracking and improving metrics such as website traffic, engagement rates, and accessibility.
- Conduct regular testing and updates to ensure the site remains functional, visually appealing, and easy to navigate.
Identify and Resolve Technical Issues:
- Monitor the website for bugs and errors, implementing timely solutions to maintain a seamless user experience.
- Create processes to prevent recurring technical issues and ensure long-term stability.
Collaborate with Teams Across the Organization:
- Work closely with project teams, community leaders, and educators to align website content with the organization’s priorities and vision.
- Facilitate daily communication with colleagues and external stakeholders, sharing progress and coordinating resources to meet deadlines effectively.
Document and Share Progress:
- Prepare daily summaries and share weekly updates with team members, ensuring transparency and alignment on tasks and deliverables.
- Utilize tools like Slack and Canva to exchange ideas, present concepts, and maintain an open channel for collaboration.
- Use social media tools such as Hootsuite and Benchmark Mail to engage followers, promote programs, and share updates that align with organizational goals.
- Actively contribute to building an online community by creating content that resonates with visible minorities, racialized youth, and other underrepresented groups.
Create and Promote Digital Content:
- Design digital materials using Google Workplace and Canva to promote initiatives and events.
- Support marketing campaigns with tools like Google Ads to drive awareness and engagement for community programs.
Gain Broad Experience Across Sectors:
- While focusing on website development, take on tasks in other areas, such as business development, teaching, and curriculum design, to build versatile skills and gain well-rounded experience.
- Actively contribute to projects that align with professional, scientific, and technical services, supporting both organizational goals and personal growth.
