The Program Co-ordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the summer program for children and youth who may have a diagnosis of AD(H)D, ASD, anxiety disorder, OCD, or learning disabilities. Daily operations include the supervision of programming, staff, volunteers, and program participants aged 7 to adults.

Responsibilities

The Program Co-ordinator's tasks and responsibilities are focused on overseeing the daily operations of the summer program, including the supervision of programming, staff, volunteers, and program participants aged 7 to adult.
  • guiding the skill development of the summer staff.
  • providing feedback and managing conflicts that may occur within the staff team.
  • may also be expected to work with larger or smaller groups of program participants in addition to their supervisory role, depending on the needs of the program.
  • will implement behaviour management techniques and ensure the ongoing safety of program participants.
  • will support the summer staff in learning how to implement behaviour management techniques. This role involves interaction with parents and guardians daily.
  • will ensure that the program environment is safe, clean, and inviting.
  • will guide the development and implementation of a weekly schedule for their program group.
  • This role will also include the maintenance of accurate program records, including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance, as well as ensuring that these procedures are followed by the summer staff.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills with the ability to problem solve and find resolutions to issues/conflict
  • Child and Youth Care Diploma, Bachelor of Education, Behavioural Science/Behavioural Psychology Diploma, Social Service Worker Diploma/or equivalent
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certificate (Standard First Aid/CPR Level C)
  • Up to Date CPIC/Police Check with vulnerable sector check (within last 6 months)
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a Camp Leadership Role, or related experience working with neurodiverse children
