Reporting to the Associate Director, Data Integration & AI, Smith School of Business, the Data Integration Analyst will design and implement data integration strategies to ensure seamless data flow across various systems, while ensuring adherence to data security and privacy regulations. This role will collaborate with the Digital Solutions team to build efficient data APIs for integration into solutions, and will perform data mapping, transformation and cleansing activities. The Data Integration Analyst tests and validates data integration processes to ensure accuracy and consistency, and identifies and resolves issues such as inconsistencies. The incumbent will develop and maintain documentation related to data integration processes, including data source definitions, data flow diagrams, and system interactions, and maintain Data Architecture. This role performs regular audits to ensure the integrity and quality of data. Experience developing and integrating APIs is required.

What you will do

  • Provides technical advice and expertise to support the development of data integration solutions, transformations, and improvements, including analysis of business requirements and recommendation of solutions.
  • Plans and coordinates straightforward data integration projects.
  • Analyzes new technologies including testing, evaluating, and determining compatibility and functionality of integrations.
  • Maintains, troubleshoots, connects, and reviews existing data and data integration platforms including reviewing architecture, integration, and code reviews.
  • Develops, designs, and implements reporting capability within applications.
  • Provides recommendations during the initial design phase to support overall planning efforts.
  • Develops and maintains data integration catalogs and technical documentation.
  • Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.

Required Education

  • Four-Year Bachelor Degree or equivalent. In addition, requires trade certification, qualification, or on-going learning to remain ahead of changes in technology or emerging fields.

Required Experience

  • More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in integration technologies, methods and capabilities considered an asset (e.g., REST, SOAP, API etc.).
  • Experience in database administration/management, design and/or technologies considered an asset (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, and/or Oracle/DB2, relational databases, warehoused databases, etc.).
  • Experience in platform solutions considered an asset.
  • Experience working with diverse populations/equity deserving groups considered an asset.
  • Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
