The Behaviour Therapist will work under the supervision of a Registered Behaviour Analyst (R.B.A. (Ont.) to implement individualized applied behaviour analysis (ABA) programs for children with autism and other developmental disorders and/or neurotypical children. The Behaviour Therapist may also be required to assist with caregiver training, workshop development and all other duties involved with providing ABA services. under direct supervision of the R.B.A..
Responsibilities: Behaviour Therapist - Supervised
- Implement individualized ABA programs for various clients in the clinic, in-home and in the community.
- Implement and/or assist clinical team with group ABA services.
- Graph (on excel), monitor, analyze and report progress to R.B.A. (Ont.).
- Record and maintain accurate records of therapy sessions & caregiver communication.
- Participate in clinical team meetings and training sessions.
- Collaborate with caregivers and other professionals to ensure generalization and maintenance of skills across time and settings.
- Provide feedback and support to caregivers on implementing ABA strategies at home and in the community.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain client confidentiality.
- Assist with rescheduling of sessions as requested by a manager.
- Follow all of Children’s Wellness Centre’s policies and procedures.
- Assist all Children’s Wellness Centre’s clients using a compassionate and caring approach.
- Comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts Standards of Professional Conduct, 2024.
- Maintain clean and sanitized treatment spaces throughout the centre and in the community.
Qualifications:
- Post secondary degree in psychology, child development, education, applied behaviour analysis or related field.
- Experience working with children with autism and other developmental disorders.
- Experience implementing Early Start Denver Model, Accept Identify Move (AIM), Promoting Emergence of Advanced Knowledge (PEAK), Practical Functional Assessment and Skill Based Treatment (PFA & SBT), selective eating programs, toileting programs and social emotional learning programs (consider an asset).
- Strong understanding of ABA principles and techniques.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- Valid business level insurance on all vehicles utilized for work related appointments.
- Professional liability insurance.
- CPIC with vulnerable sector check.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to engage in physical activities, including sitting on the floor, playing with children, and managing physically active clients.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Compensation:
- Hourly Wage: $26.00 - $32.00 plus 4% vacation pay
- Health Saving Account (HSA) after 3 months
- Compensation for travel
- Ontario Association for Behaviour Analysis membership
