The Kingston Military Family Resource Center (KMFRC) is a registered non-profit, charitable organization that supports and enhances the health and well-being of the military community. Position Function:

The Kingston Military Family Resource Center requires an Educator for our licensed childcare program; Les Petits Amis Childcare Centre. This position, is responsible for delivering childcare, providing constant supervision and age–appropriate developmental activities for children in Les Petits Amis Childcare Center as well as, providing quality services and programs to support the evolving needs of our military families.

Desired Minimum Knowledge, Education and Experience

  • Early Childhood Education Diploma, Child and Youth Worker Diploma, Teaching Certification and/or equivalent education and childcare experience.
  • Experience in emerging programming and documentation
  • A strong knowledge of child development
  • Working knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act
  • Knowledge of the ELECT, How Does Learning Happen and Think, Act, Feel documents
  • Strong understanding of current best practices, resources and research
  • Willingness to attend professional development and training
  • Process initiative, organizational and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of issues facing military families and their unique lifestyle as asset
  • Standard First Aid and CPR
  • Bilingualism (French and English) an asset
  • Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Check

Work Conditions, Salary and Benefits

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Salary:
    • For ECEs: $24.86 - $27.00 per hour (after probation)
    • For non-ECEs: $22.99 per hour (after probation)
