Tsi Tyónnheht Onkwawén:na (TTO), in collaboration with Wintergreen Studios and community partners, is seeking a dedicated Land Restoration Coordinator to lead a unique initiative that merges ecological restoration with cultural and linguistic revitalization. This three-year, full-time position will support the regeneration of land around our new Centre, as part of a broader effort to uphold and advance Onkwehonwe’néha and to support the growth of proficient speakers of Kanyen’kéha.
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and implementing a comprehensive restoration strategy rooted in Indigenous knowledge systems and ecological best practices. This work will take place alongside community involvement, cultural learning, and Mohawk language reclamation activities.

Qualifications
- Intermediate level proficiency in Onkwehonwe’néha preferred; willingness to learn and use is required
- Post-secondary education and/or experience in land conservation, ecological restoration, environmental science, or related fields.
- Knowledge of native and medicinal plant species in the region.
- Understanding of Indigenous approaches to land stewardship is required.
- Experience in community-based projects or education.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and perform physical tasks.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check will be required as a condition of employment
