Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in automation controls design involving PLC’s, HMI’s, VFD’s and other controls system components
  • Work with AutoCAD electrical software to modify and develop drawing packages for automation systems
  • Working at Heights is an asset, but we will train.
  • Ability to work with a cross functional teams per project demands.
  • Design, develop and maintain control system devices
  • Participate in new system installation and commissioning.
  • Work with outside contractors and cross functional teams as required.
  • Participate in continues improvement initiatives.
  • Preferred to have knowledge of VFDs.
  • Programing HMIs and SCADA is an asset.
  • Recording and logging including maintain and back-up all software used in PLC equipment in the plant.
  • Assisting in the development and installation of new electrical designs
  • Working with Automation group as PLC programmer
  • Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting PLC and other automation systems company wide.
  • Available for system support of all Automation related equipment at all facilities, as required.
  • Must adhere to Preventative Maintenance Plan schedule.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Experience with various Allen Bradley products, including, but not limited to: ControlLogix, Compact Logix, PanelViews etc.
  • Experience with WonderWare or other SCADA platform is an asset.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical is an asset
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet I/P, ProfiNet, DeviceNet etc is an asset
  • Ability to read and understand Electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Must be available for overtime/weekend work.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects/tasks at one time.
  • Ability to troubleshoot on their own quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and understand business needs.
  • Ability to work projects in a fast-paced result-oriented team.
