About this Opportunity:

Reporting directly to the Vice President, Human Resources & Organizational Development, the Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for delivering full-spectrum HR services across our multi-segment business. This is a hands-on role with day-to-day HR operations responsibilities, ensuring consistency, compliance, and excellence in all aspects of the Company’s HR practices. On-site 5 days per week.

Responsibilities, but not limited to: 

  • Work closely with the HR Manager in support of employee relations matters, providing guidance to managers and employees on policies, performance, and workplace best practices.
  • Support initiatives that promote engagement, retention, and a positive, safety-oriented workplace culture
  • Support full-cycle recruitment efforts for a diverse range of roles across construction, marine, real estate and administrative functions.
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a smooth and consistent new-hire experience.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, employee files, and HRIS data integrity.
  • Support the administration of compensation, benefits, payroll and WSIB claims management.
  • Assist with HR process improvement efforts and contribute to the development of operational efficiencies across all HR functions.
  • Ensure compliance with the Employment Standards Act (Ontario), Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other relevant legislation.
  • Update and maintain Company policies and the Company Employee Handbook, ensuring clarity and alignment with company values.
  • Prepare HR metrics and reports to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with site leaders to promote health, safety, and wellness initiatives across all operations.
  • Support return-to-work processes and accommodation plans.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders on WSIB documentation and case management

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in construction, transportation, real estate, and/or other operational environments.
  • Experience with payroll processing; ADP Workforce Now experience a strong asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable speaking to small groups.
  • Ability to establish and maintain appropriate boundaries in work relationships; understands the importance of privacy and confidentiality of information.
  • Strong working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, the Health & Safety Act, Human Rights, and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver effective HR support across diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • CHRP or CHRL designation (or in progress) is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to regional sites.
