Operations Support Student - Tomlinson Group of Companies

Founded in 1952, Tomlinson is a family owned and operated business that has grown from a one single-axle dump truck to Eastern Canada’s leader in environmental, construction and transportation infrastructure services.  

R.W. Tomlinson is seeking to hire a student from May to August 2026 for our Industrial Waste Team. This would be a full-time position working in the office.

Location: 633 Fortune Crescent, Kingston, ON 

What will you do?

• Greet people coming into offices, direct them to the appropriate contacts or services.
• Operate a telephone system, screen and forward telephone calls, input Customer requests in the TRUX System, and provide information to Customers as required. 
• Data entry for various operations activities necessary for regular customer invoicing. 
• Occasional help in dispatch. 
• End of day driver check-ins. 

The ideal candidate looks something like this:

• Current enrollment in a Business or Administration Program at a Post-Secondary level.
• Strong attention to detail.  
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (formulas, pivot tables and graphs). 
• Motivation/commitment, adaptability and ability to effectively manage high workload.  
• Strong interpersonal/communication skills with the ability to work effectively with different levels of the organization.
