Cataraqui Conservation has up to three positions available for a Program Attendant Level 1 at the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area during the 2026 Maple Madness program.

Location: Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area (Kingston)
Status: Seasonal position for the month of March 2026
Hours: All weekends in March and March Break. Hours and shifts determined by schedule.
Compensation: $17.19 (student rate) to $19.37 per hour (2026 rate); dependent on experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide excellent customer service to all visitors to the Outdoor Centre and Conservation Area during the Maple Madness program. Accurately handle all sales and related activities within a team environment. Staff will alternate between the gate, parking lot, maple shop and sugar shack.

Additional duties will include:

•Greeting and educating visitors on Maple Madness activities.
•Operating stations in the sugar shack including:
    • Drinks: making hot beverages, operating coffee machines and helping the cashier fill drink orders.
    • Syrup: working with the pancake cooks to fill orders, applying syrup to pancakes and serving customers.
    • Trays/Recycling: cleaning trays, collecting and monitoring garbage and recycling and helping stock the condiment station.

•Assist with daily set-up and cleaning.
•Monitoring parking lots, directing visitors on how and where to park and communicating with gate staff.

Qualifications

•Previous retail sales experience with an excellent customer service record.
•Experience in operating a point-of-sale system and handling cash.
•Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
•Must have own reliable transportation to the job site.
•Ability to work in cold weather and under pressure.
•Ability to lift heavy objects (event supplies)
