Cataraqui Conservation is seeking to fill one Nature Explorers Summer Camp Instructor position within our Communications & Education team at Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area on Perth Road (Division Street) in Kingston.

Location: Kingston, Ontario
Status: Seasonal full-time contract, summer 2026
Hours: 40 hours per week for 7 weeks (weekdays)(Training: June 22-26, Camp: June 29 – August 21)
Compensation: $18.63 to 19.77 per hour, dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

•Assist with development, preparation, organization, planning, and delivery of daily camp program.
•Responsible for facilitating the care and safety of day camp participants (ages 6-10) and (two leaders in training (LITs) ages 11 – 14) during daily camp games, teaching nature-based lessons and activities, supervising lunch and snack times, and leading during the field trips to Gould Lake Conservation Area.
•Responsible for taking part in one week of staff training and contributing lesson plans and activities.
•Taking part in daily pre-camp prep and end of day wrap up.

Qualifications:

•Must have graduated from secondary school by June 2026
•Applicants returning to second year (or beyond) of post-secondary studies in Sept. 2026 or are currently working in the education or early childhood field are preferred.
•Outgoing, adaptable, and team-oriented applicants preferred.
•Must have experience working with children.
•Must have knowledge and interest in nature and the outdoors.
•Must be interested in developing and teaching nature-based programs.
•Must have current first-aid (Child and Adult) C.P.R. certification.
•Must produce a current and clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check upon request.
•Must have transportation to and from Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area.
