Join the Justice Technology Services Division as a co-op student supporting a dynamic team focused on delivering high-quality, innovative technology solutions across the enterprise. This role offers hands-on experience in multimedia scripting, dashboard development, and technical troubleshooting within a public sector environment.
You’ll work closely with technical teams and project leads to support the creation of digital content, data visualizations, and infrastructure services that enhance justice-related programs.
Winter 2026 – IT Systems Assistant Co-op
Location: 2nd St W Cornwall & 161 Elgin St Ottawa, one position per location is available.
Term: Winter 2026 (January–April)
Hours: Full-time (36.25 hours/week)
Work Model: In office
Key Responsibilities
As a co-op student, you will be involved in:
- Multimedia Scripting & Content Creation:
Supporting the development of audio and video materials for internal and external use, including scripting and editing.
- Power BI Dashboard Development:
Assisting with the design and implementation of interactive dashboards to visualize operational and program data.
- Technical Troubleshooting:
Providing support for computer systems and resolving hardware/software issues across the division.
- Web & Application Support:
Contributing to front-end development tasks using HTML and assisting with integration of multimedia content.
You may also assist with:
- Research and analysis of enterprise activities
- Preparing documentation and technical specifications
- Supporting infrastructure planning and improvement initiatives
- Generating reports using data from various sources
Skills & Qualifications
We’re looking for a student who brings:
- Experience or coursework in Python and HTML
- Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- A flexible and adaptable mindset with a willingness to learn
Bonus if you have:
- Understanding of systems development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Knowledge of infrastructure environments (e.g., data centres, networks, architecture)
