Community Living Glengarry is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities. We provide meaningful programs and services that empower the people we support to live full and inclusive lives.

Under the direction of the Manager of Supports and Services, supervise residents and assess the residents’ needs, monitor and promote policies and procedures in the home that ensure the safety of the residents. Act always as a role model to the residents and perform other related duties, as required. Ensure the maintenance of a physical and emotional home atmosphere, conducive to a satisfying living experience for all residents.

What you will do:

  • Provide support and care to individuals with intellectual disabilities in group homes and community programs.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
  • Assist with daily living activities, personal care, and community participation.
  • Follow individualized care plans and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Be available for call-ins as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Comfortable working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Completed or currently enrolled in post-secondary studies, preferably in:
    • Developmental Services Worker (DSW)
    • Behavioural Science Technician (BST)
    • Social Service Worker (SSW)
    • Personal Support Worker (PSW)
    • University studies in social services or related fields.
    • Education, training, and relevant experience are considered assets.
  • Strong teamwork, organizational skills, and ability to take initiative.
  • Ability to successfully pass English and/or French language testing (as required for the position).
  • Valid Class “G” driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Current (within the last 6 months) Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • French language skills considered a strong asset.
