Hours per Week: Q Services is recruiting team members for the 2026–27 academic year and Summer 2026. During both the academic year and the summer term, hours range from 4–13.5 per week. In addition, temporary full-time (up to 35 hours per week) positions are available during the summer term.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Membership Engagement and Services and taking directions from Customer Service Specialists, Q Services Team Members provide frontline customer service at various desk locations throughout the year, including ARC North, Lower Level Two, and ARC South.

You will assist members and visitors by providing information, processing membership sales, managing equipment lending, and supporting a diverse range of internal and external user groups. Candidates should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, demonstrate solid time management skills, and be adept at handling challenging customer service situations. This position requires regular interaction with ARC members and the broader Queen’s community, playing a key role in ensuring a welcoming and seamless experience for all who use the facility.

Shifts are scheduled during ARC operating hours, and include early mornings, daytime, evenings, and weekends. Flexibility is important to accommodate the operational needs of the ARC. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys engaging with people, delivering exceptional customer service, and gaining a deeper understanding of Athletics and Recreation at Queen’s.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries, providing directions and information about products and services via phone, email, and in person.

• Monitor building entry to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

• Handle in-person registration and sales for memberships, camps, programs, and tickets.

• Manage equipment and key sign-out and track returns accurately and conduct merchandise sales.

• Utilize the membership management system to oversee membership types, process sales, and maintain accurate member records.

• Completing administrative tasks assigned.

• Facilitate ticket sales both in person and over the phone.

• Process transactions using point-of-sale systems and reconcile sales at the end of each shift.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting appearance of the Q Shop, customer service areas, and lobby.

• Undertake other duties as required in support of the department.

Required Qualifications:

• Exceptional customer service skills and previous experience in team environment.

• Strong communication skills.

• Multitasking experience.

• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening required.

• Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
