AI Software Engineer - Telecom Metric Inc

This role is located in either Kingston, ON or Ottawa, ON and requires on site work. Candidates must be located in the Kingston ON, or Ottawa, ON area - or must be willing to relocate prior to the start of the role.

About the Role

We're adding to our DevOps team at Cloud Metric and looking for a curious, motivated AI Software Engineer to join. This is an opportunity to work across the full stack while using modern DevOps practices in a supportive environment that values both technical skills and critical thinking.

You'll work with cutting-edge technologies, including AI tools, distributed systems, and potentially even hardware implementations.

Role Description

• Develop and maintain applications using our core tech stack (Python, JavaScript, React, PostgreSQL)
• Collaborate with the team to implement DevOps best practices and automation
• Work with CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes
• Leverage AI tools to enhance development productivity and explore innovative solutions
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment
• Learn and grow with mentorship from senior team members
• Contribute to both backend services and frontend applications

Core Technical Requirements

• Backend: Python, JavaScript, Node.js
• Frontend: React (experience with Next.js, Nuxt, Vercel, Angular, or Vue is a plus)
• Database: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or MariaDB
• Version Control: Git and collaborative workflows
• DevOps Fundamentals:
• Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker basics)
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure fundamentals)
• Don't worry if you haven't used every technology we work with – if you're proficient with this core stack.
