The Program Coordinator will support the delivery of the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN) Regional Technology Development Site (RTDS) in Kingston. This full-time term position begins in April 2026 and concludes on August 31, 2029.

The Program Coordinator will help implement a high-impact initiative that strengthens Kingston and the surrounding region's role in Ontario’s evolving vehicle and mobility innovation ecosystem. This role focuses on program administration, stakeholder engagement, event coordination, reporting, and supporting businesses as they navigate funding and partnership opportunities. No engineering or technical background is required—success in this role comes from strong organization, communication, and relationship-building skills.

This is a dynamic growth opportunity for someone who enjoys coordinating multi-partner initiatives, supporting entrepreneurs, and contributing to Kingston and the surrounding region's economic development. The successful candidate will work closely with Investment Managers, maintain program databases, support outreach activities, and help connect companies with the resources available through the OVIN RTDS.

  • Program Coordination and Administration: Coordinate project activities; organize & coordinate events; facilitate workshops; and track project milestones, budgets and timelines.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Lead the preparation and submission of detailed reports; and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting, ensuring submissions are accurate, on time, and within budget.
  • Funding Coordination: Manage funding from intake to distribution; monitor funding programs including equitable funding distribution; and work closely with startups and SMEs to explore, apply for and maximize funding opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management: Foster and maintain partnerships with ecosystem contributors; facilitate collaboration with new and existing initiatives; assist SMEs to access validation & commercialization services; and promote the initiative through outreach and targeted communications.
  • Additional Projects and Initiatives: Support Kingston Economic Development Corporation’s business attraction and outreach efforts; and contribute to the long-term sustainability of the initiative.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Education

  • A post-secondary education is required. A degree or certificate in a related field (economic development, business administration/commerce) is considered favourably.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of work experience.
  • Client facing experience with professional communication skills.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset. French is a strong asset.
  • Communication – Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including strong writing abilities.
  • Multi-Tasking & Prioritization – Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Event & Workshop Coordination – Experience organizing meetings, workshops, conferences, and promotional events.
  • Collaboration & Facilitation – Skilled in leading workshops, training sessions, and fostering strategic partnerships.
  • Adaptability & Resilience – Comfortable working in a dynamic environment, handling challenges and changes effectively.
  • Relationship Building – Proven ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
