A Brief Overview
This position acts as the first point of contact and liaison for the department and/or unit for external organizations. This position coordinates central activities within the department and/or unit such as faculty education and training, and monitors and follows-up with staff to confirm activity progression. This position performs general accounting and bookkeeping tasks, analyzes, drafts, and monitors departmental budget, and prepares variance and financial reports. This position also interprets, analyzes, and implements policies and procedures, and recommends changes. This position directs, allocates, and supervises the work of other staff.
What you will do
- Acts as the first point of contact and liaison for the department and/or unit for external organizations.
- Coordinates activities in support of the department and/unit's operations including preparing and distributing correspondence, documents, and/or reports.
- Coordinates and participates in committee meetings.
- Prepares and finalizes all documentation for the university faculty appointments.
- Coordinates central activities within the department and/or unit. Monitors and follows-up with staff to confirm activity progression and compliance.
- Determines requirements, and purchases equipment, furniture and software within a defined budget.
- Interprets, analyzes, and implements policies and procedures, and recommends changes.
- Performs general accounting and bookkeeping duties including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense reimbursements. Prepares cheque requisitions, journal entries, purchase orders and credit card reconciliation.
- Analyzes, drafts, and monitors departmental budget, and prepares variance and financial reports for the department and/or unit.
- Directs, allocates, and supervises the work of other staff.
Required Education
- Three-year Community College Diploma or Three-Year Bachelor Degree, or equivalent.
Required Experience
- More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years of experience.
- Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
