The Job

Our line cooks are responsible for preparing menu items for the restaurant and banquet functions while maintaining consistency, quality, and adherence to food safety standards. This position plays a key role in ensuring all dishes are prepared to specification, presented attractively, and delivered in a timely manner to enhance the overall guest experience.

What You'll Do

  • Craft each dish with care, consistency, and attention to presentation, knowing it may be the highlight of someone’s stay
  • Bring creative energy and pride to every plate, delivering meals that are as beautiful as they are delicious
  • Treat recipes as blueprints and every service as an opportunity to elevate the guest experience
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized station so that every dish is prepared with intention and flow
  • Work closely with chefs and fellow team members to ensure food quality reflects our brand’s high standards
  • Adapt quickly, solve problems, and remain calm under pressure to keep the guest experience seamless
  • Confirm daily specials with the Chef or Sous Chef and verify assigned duties and prep list priorities.
  • Inform the Chef or Sous Chef promptly of any shortages, unavailable items, or product concerns.
  • Prepare and cook menu items, including soups and short-order dishes, according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Maintain proper labeling, storage, and organization of all food products in refrigerators and freezers.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared and plated consistently according to portion, presentation, and timing standards.
  • Conduct regular taste and temperature checks to ensure food meets quality and safety requirements.
  • Properly use and maintain all kitchen tools, equipment, and appliances.
  • Prepare ingredients such as chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, and setting up stations before service (mise en place).
  • Ensure all fridges and workstations are clean, organized, and meet health and safety standards.
  • Work safely and in compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Assist in other kitchen areas as required and perform additional duties as assigned by the Chef or Sous Chef.

Who We're Looking For

  • Completion of a two-year community college culinary diploma or equivalent education an asset.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of cooking experience, preferably within a fine dining environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Passionate about food and dedicated to creating memorable culinary experiences
  • Precise and consistent, with a strong eye for detail and presentation
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, staying calm and focused under pressure
  • A true team player who communicates clearly and supports a collaborative kitchen culture
  • Reliable and disciplined, showing up prepared and ready to execute at a high level
  • Creative and curious, always open to learning new techniques and contributing fresh ideas
