HOUSING MANAGER
Weller Arms is an affordable senior apartment complex looking for a manager to handle daily operations, oversee maintenance, manage tenant relations, and ensure adherence to funding agreements and regulations. Key duties include budgeting, rent collection, tenant selection, building maintenance, and implementing community-focused policies.
Key Responsibilities
• Tenant Relations & Administration: Manage applications, move-ins/move-outs, lease agreements, and handle tenant complaints or disputes.
• Financial Management: Prepare operating budgets, monitor expenditures, collect rent, and manage arrears.
• Subsidies & Compliance: Calculate income-based, rent-geared-to-income (RGI) or subsidized rents and ensure compliance with provincial/non-profit housing regulations.
• Leadership: Supervise staff, contractors, including maintenance, administrative, or support personnel.
• Property Operations & Maintenance: Coordinate repairs, routine maintenance, and capital upgrades while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Community Relations: Foster a safe, inclusive community environment and work with external stakeholders, funders, and the Board of Directors.
Desired Qualifications
• Experience: 3+ years in property management, specifically within the non-profit or social housing sector.
• Knowledge: Understanding of residential tenancy acts, housing policies, and building systems.
• Skills: Strong financial management (budgeting), conflict resolution, communication, and organizational skills.
• Customer Service: Support and engage with senior population.
• Education: Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Property Management, or Social Services, or equivalent experience.
• Background check: Will be required once position is offered to the candidate.
