Thomson Fasteners Inc., is a leading Canadian manufacturer of specialty fasteners for the automotive, construction, and other industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean work area.
  • Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates.
  • Examine completed workpieces for defects.
  • Set up, operate, and tend cold heading machines to produce fasteners.
  • Read work orders or production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, tools to be used, and product dimensions and tolerances.

Skills and Technology Used:

  • Interpreting technical drawing and specifications
  • Computer aided manufacturing CAM
  • Industrial control software: Computerized numerical control CNC software
  • Forklift operation
