The Naval Marine Archive - The Canadian Collection is a totally unique library, archive and cultural collection of over 350,000 publicly catalogued items. Our holdings constitute the largest grouping of naval and marine titles in a single building anywhere in Canada, augmented with a growing number of aviation titles.
We are seeking an Reference Librarian to join our team. This is a summer time position and you can learn more about The Naval Marine Archive by visiting our website. Training to be provided for learning relevant skills.
Tasks:
- Create metadata for digital, archival and library collections (approximately 350,00 items)
- Creating records involving digitization
- Production of management information for the collection development through subject knowledge, including MARC, Z3950
- Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) which goes directly online
- Organize the collections for public access
- Maintenance and care of collections
- Assisting with programs for younger children
