Opening spring 2026 in beautiful Orléans, Ontario, our brand-new Residence will feature 134 private rooms and 90 shared rooms—each designed for comfort and dignity. Residents will benefit from 24-hour nursing care and personalized support that help them live well, feel valued, and stay connected to what matters most.

The Behaviour Support Manager (BSO) reports to the Director of Care and serves as the in-houseclinical lead for the identification and management of responsive behaviours. This vacancy is a new role. The role focuses on supporting older adults with dementia, complex mental health needs, substance use, and other neurological conditions through evidence-based, person-centered care. The BSO Manager works collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, including

Behaviour Support Resource Teams (BSRT), Psychogeriatric Resource Consultants, Geriatric MentalHealth Outreach Teams, hospitals, Ontario Health atHome, and other healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership in the assessment and management of responsive behaviours
  • Conduct comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Lead and support the Behaviour Support Resource Team (BSRT)
  • Coach and mentor staff on best practices (e.g., PIECES, U-FIRST, GPA)
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external partners
  • Lead behaviour rounds and participate in care conferences
  • Support non-pharmacological approaches and quality improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate transitions of residents between care settings
  • Identify training needs and support staff education

Qualifications : Candidates must hold a regulated clinical designation in Ontario. Acceptable qualifications include:

  • Registered Nurse (RN)/ Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with substantial geriatric mental health expertise
  • Registered Social Worker (RSW)
  • Registered Psychologist
  • Registered Psychotherapist
  • Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) (meeting Ontario regulatory requirements)
Additional Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year experience in long-term care or working with older adults
  • Experience supporting individuals with responsive behaviours
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and quality standards
  • Training in PIECES, GPA, U-FIRST (assets)
