The Naval Marine Archive - The Canadian Collection is a totally unique library, archive and cultural collection of over 350,000 publicly catalogued items. Our holdings constitute the largest grouping of naval and marine titles in a single building anywhere in Canada, augmented with a growing number of aviation titles.
We are seeking an Reference Librarian to join our team. This is a summer time position and you can learn more about The Naval Marine Archive by visiting our website. Training to be provided for learning relevant skills.
Elibility:
- This is an eight-week summer position running from May 18, 2026 to July 10, 2026, with a workload of 35 hours per week.
- The successful candidate must be a full-time student during the current academic year and returning as a full-time student in the following academic year.
- Eligibility requirement: Applicants must be Canadian citizens, in accordance with the conditions of the Government of Canada Summer Student Grant.
Tasks:
- Archival transfer of analog material to digital using audio and video technology.
- Audio and video set up for recording equipment, mixing boards, microphones, speakers, projectors, video screens and video monitors.
- Requires knowledge of Linux system.
- Skills developed with this placement
- Projection and presentation systems used to transfer to digital format.
