Maritime Metals Housing Inc. is a growing leader in advanced metal recycling, specializing in the recovery and purification of high-value materials including rhenium from superalloy and industrial waste streams. Our facility utilizes cutting-edge hydrometallurgical and ion exchange technologies to produce high-purity products for global markets.
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Ion Exchange Processing Operator to support the recovery and purification of rhenium through ion exchange and related chemical processing operations. This role is critical in ensuring efficient plant operation, product quality, and adherence to safety and environmental standards.

- Hours: Monday to Thursday 7 am to 5 pm, Friday, Saturday, Sunday OFF, Overtime is available
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor ion exchange columns used in rhenium recovery
- Perform resin loading, regeneration, elution, and conditioning processes
- Prepare and handle chemical solutions (acids, bases, eluents) safely
- Monitor process parameters (flow rates, pH, temperature, pressure)
- Collect samples and perform basic analytical testing
- Record process data and maintain accurate production logs
- Troubleshoot process deviations and support continuous improvement efforts
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and regulations
- Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of processing equipment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical diploma preferred)
- Experience in hydrometallurgy, chemical processing, or ion exchange systems is an asset
- Knowledge of acids, bases, and chemical handling procedures
- Ability to read and follow SOPs and process flow diagrams
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with industrial equipment
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with metal recovery (e.g., nickel, cobalt, rhenium, molybdenum)
- Familiarity with ion exchange resins and column operations
- Previous work in a refinery, recycling facility, or chemical plant
Working Conditions:
- Industrial plant environment
- Exposure to chemicals, requiring proper PPE
- Standing, lifting, and physical activity required
- Shift work may be required
Compensation & Benefits:
$24.00 to start, All training provided. 3 Month probationary period. Upon completion, Benefits will include, Medical, Dental, Vision, Group RSP, Employer matching, 3 weeks paid vacation, Planned special events, profit sharing bonuses.
