This is a joint position that combines the responsibilities of two roles. The successful candidate will perform the duties of the Heritage Presenter role for 50% of their time and Outreach activities for the remaining 50% role based at Fort Wellington.

Heritage Interpreter
Bring history to life by delivering tours and providing onsite information in both official languages. This is an active, public facing role set outdoors in a unique historic environment.
Duties:
- Delivering guided tours and visitor information in English and French
- Participating in costumed interpretation, special events, and historic weapons and artillery (cannon) programs
- Assisting with visitor orientation and reception duties, including greeting visitors, answering phones, and handling point of sale transactions
- Cleaning and sanitation of public and staff areas and participation in the Collection Cleaning project
Heritage Interpretation & Outreach / External Relations
Split between onsite interpretation at Fort Wellington and regional outreach across Eastern Ontario, this role supports public engagement and communications beyond traditional interpretation.
Duties:
- Preparing, organizing, and managing outreach materials and inventory
- Supporting outreach activities for Parks Canada sites between Kingston and Ottawa
- Speaking with members of the public offsite to share approved messaging
- Supporting photo and video capture for communications and social media
- Learning and applying approved messaging for multiple national parks and national historic sites
Requirements (All Student Positions)
- Full time student status with full time availability from early May to late August (37.5 hours/week, typically 9:15 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.)
- Ability to report to Prescott, ON (valid G driver’s licence and access to a vehicle required; no transit or student housing available)
- Willingness to work weekends and outdoors in varying weather
- Comfort in public facing, customer service oriented roles
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluency in both French and English is strongly preferred
- Must wear Parks Canada uniform and/or historic period costume
