Kitchen Assistant (Summer Student) - Anglican Diocese of Ottawa

The Kitchen Helper supports the day-to-day operations of the kitchen at Centre 105 by assisting with meal preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting meal service. Working alongside the Kitchen Coordinator, this role helps ensure the kitchen runs efficiently and that participants receive meals in a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment. This position is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with vulnerable individuals in a community-based kitchen setting.

Details:

• Location: Centre 105 – 105 Second Street West, Cornwall, ON
• Hours: 30 hours per week: 7:00AM - 3:00PM, Tuesday-Friday
• Duration: May 18 to August 29, 2026
• Wage: $19/hour

Key Responsibilities:

Kitchen Support & Meal Preparation

• Assist with preparing and serving meals for daily breakfast service
• Help with basic food prep
• Support the Kitchen Coordinator during meal service

Cleaning & Organization

• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen space
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
• Assist with daily cleaning and sanitizing of surfaces

Inventory Support

• Assist with organizing food supplies and donations

Participant & Team Support

• Assist with serving meals, coffee, and drinks to participants
• Help create a welcoming and respectful environment
• Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers
