The Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce is part of a dynamic network of Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade representing over 65,000 businesses across Ontario and 170,000 businesses nationally. Locally, the Chamber represents over 300 members and is recognized as the region’s official “Voice of Business,” influencing policy and advocating for a strong business community.
We are a membership-based, not-for-profit organization led by an elected volunteer Board of Directors. We are seeking a highly motivated, results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Business Development & Member Services Coordinator. This role is ideal for a sales-oriented individual who thrives on building relationships, generating revenue, and growing a membership base.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving membership growth, securing new members, maximizing revenue opportunities, and delivering exceptional value and service to existing members. Complete job description can be viewed on the careers webpage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively identify, pursue, and secure new members to grow the Chamber’s membership base through outreach, networking, and lead generation
- Manage and grow current revenue streams while identifying and developing new revenue opportunities
- Develop and execute business development and sales strategies to meet membership and revenue targets
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective members to increase retention and engagement
- Conduct regular outreach (calls, meetings, events) to maintain a strong pipeline of prospective members
- Develop a deep understanding of Chamber programs, services, and sponsorship opportunities to effectively sell value to businesses
- Work closely with members and partners to understand their business needs and provide tailored solutions
- Enhance the overall member experience through responsive, innovative, and value-driven service delivery
- Represent the Chamber at community and networking events to generate leads and strengthen stakeholder relationships
- Track, measure, and report on sales activity, membership growth, and revenue performance monthly
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors on strategic initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in sales, business development, client relationship management, or marketing
- Proven track record in meeting or exceeding sales or membership growth targets
- Experience in a non-profit or membership-based organization is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized with strong time management skills
- Results-driven, persuasive, and confident in building new business relationships
- Strong business acumen and attention to detail
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $40,000 – $45,000 annually (based on experience)
- 32 hours per week
- 2 weeks paid vacation
