Patry Group of Companies is hiring an Acoustic Technician Assistant for the summer to support our Acoustic Technician across our growing portfolio of residential and hospitality properties. This is a great opportunity for a student or recent graduate with a background in audio, sound design, or acoustics to gain real-world, field-based experience.

You’ll travel between Patry properties, assist with sound testing and system calibration, support documentation and reporting, and learn the ins and outs of acoustic work in occupied and newly developed spaces.

  • Location: Multi-site within Kingston, Ontario
  • Reports to: Acoustic Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel with the Acoustic Technician to Patry Group properties to assist with on-site sound testing and acoustic evaluations
  • Help set up, transport, and calibrate testing equipment in residential units, common areas, and amenity spaces
  • Run basic acoustic measurements under supervision and log data accurately
  • Assist with documenting test results, formatting reports, and organizing project files
  • Support troubleshooting of audio-related issues and follow up on action items between site visits
  • Provide general administrative and project support to the acoustic program as needed

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in or completed coursework in audio engineering, sound design, acoustics, music production, or a related field (required)
  • Familiarity with sound systems, audio equipment, and basic testing tools
  • Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a reliable personal vehicle (required — travel between sites is part of the role)
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy
  • Comfortable working in a field-based environment with changing locations day to day
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Eager to learn, take direction, and contribute as part of a team
