Junior Technical Generalist — On-Site Support - Findlay Foods (Kingston) Ltd

We're looking for a reliable, technically capable person to support day-to-day operational and systems tasks on-site. The position of Junior Technical Generalist — On-Site Support is a permanent track role and not a traditional intern position — suited to someone equally comfortable with physical systems and digital processes.

You'll work closely with senior technical staff who operate primarily off-site, serving as the on-site hands for tasks that require a physical presence. 

This role is a good fit if you enjoy keeping things running correctly and take quiet satisfaction in doing technical work well.

What you'll do:

• Hands-on PC hardware experience: installing and replacing components such as RAM, hard drives, SSDs, and peripherals, and setting up or imaging workstations from scratch.
• Operating system familiarity: Windows is required and Linux is a strong asset, covering installation, basic configuration, updates, and user accounts.
• Networking basics: connecting and configuring devices on a LAN, and troubleshooting connectivity (DNS, IP, wired versus wireless).
• Over time you would be cross-trained in the internal data processes that are critical to how the organization runs, providing continuity and backup capability.

Requirements:

• Working knowledge of CSV files: structure, common formatting issues, and import/export troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with a PHP-based CMS, especially Joomla, is a meaningful asset.
• Comfortable using spreadsheets to review and check data.
• Some exposure to relational databases (MySQL or similar): a basic grasp of tables, records, and simple queries.
• Basic HTML and PHP: able to read existing code and make minor edits

This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership, and wants to grow into a position of real operational importance.
